Three Domains and Four Questions: Igniting the Genius Within.

Business is the playing field which defines the game we play and has clear measures and feedback systems to let us know how well we are doing.

Technology enables us to create the right tools, which results in competitive differentiation to win the game.

Spirituality is at the root of our passion and energy that feeds our innovation. It is the seat of our natural genius.

These three are interdependent and are part of a single eco-system.

Often our genius is not ignited and our capacity is limited because our values, beliefs, principles and attitudes (our mindset) come from a narrow perspective and they become rigid within each one of the domains.

Whereas, when we operate at the nexus of the three domains and build on their confluence, we expand the horizon and our capacity increases. Operating at the interconnected, eco-system level with a holistic or systemic perspective, we are able to cross boundaries and create synergies that can make us effective, innovative and successful. Even great!

Cost reduction and quality processes bring efficiency to a business. How can efficient companies increase their revenue, innovate faster than their competitors and become effective? And how can effective companies turn into great companies that are admired and appreciated in the global markets?

Too many right answers, too few meaningful questions.

Amazon has over 16,000 books with the word "leader" in the title. How can a CEO find out which book to read and which approach is right for him or her to be a great leader?

There is an old story of Mullah Nasiruddin. A friend came across Mullah one night crouching on the ground in an open space under the moon light. The friend asked Mullah, "What are you searching?" "‘I’am looking for my lost key", said Mullah. The friend wanted to help and he too started searching. After a while, the friend asked, "Where did you lose it?’ "I lost it inside the house", said Nasiruddin. "Then why are you looking for it here!" exclaimed the friend. "Ah, I am not stupid", said Mullah, "there’s more light here!"

Like the Mullah, we tend to look for solutions in generic answers. We rarely explore the ambiguous part of us where we actually lost our energy, passion and meaning. To do that, we need to ask the right questions.

Based on his experience in working with over a 100 CEOs and hundreds of executives since 1990, Dr. Prasad has developed a framework with Four Questions as its corner stones or pillars. He has seen repeatedly that these questions, when understood well and asked in the right way, triggers the right answers and ignites the genius within individuals and organizations.
